Canterbury punting company shared tours
Our shared tours are very popular. They can accommodate up to 12 passengers and are a great way for smaller groups to see the sights.
About the shared tour
The shared tour includes an entertaining commentary from our chauffeur. Our guides adjust their commentary to appeal to the demographic of their passengers, so parents find the tours are educational and fun for their kids too.
The shared tour takes the same route as our private tours and lasts 45 minutes, starting and ending at our station on Water Lane.
Skip the queues!
You can simply visit our cafe and book a place on one of our regular shared tours. The wait time may be up to an hour. During our busiest times, there may be a longer wait.
We now offer a limited number of shared tour tickets that can be booked in advance, and offer a saving of at least 10% on your ticket price! You can also book a scheduled departure time. These are only available online. You must book a minimum of two adults. Scroll down to book.
Check the early bird discount on certain tour times, this offers even further saving!
We generally operate between 10am-5pm, although sometimes later in the summer. If you want to reserve an evening tour, try our private tour.
COVID-19 and shared tours?
Our tours comply with the current government guidelines for social distancing. We have introduced screens between passenger groups and reduced the number of groups per boat. This has the added bonus of creating more privacy and increasing personal space. If you have concerns, please call us on 01227464797.
By purchasing a tour for 4-6 passengers you get a private section of the boat, separated from other people by social distance screens.
Booking for more than 6 people?
If you are booking a shared tour and need more than 6 seats, you will need to book a private boat for your group. Head to our private tours page or call us to arrange this.
You must show up 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time to be guaranteed a place on your boat.
